9. When settlement/elastic shortening of props happens, double wedges should be arranged for correction of the form to the desired position. Wedges are applied only at bottom end of single prop and should not be very steep and one of the pair should be secured/clamped down after correction to avoid their shifting.
10. No member should be eccentric over vertical member.
11. There should sufficient number of bolts and nuts and cantilever supports.
12. Props shall remain directly under one another in multistage construction.
13. Guy ropes or stays should be perfectly tensioned.
14. Provision should be arranged for movement and operation of vibrator and other plant and equipment.
15. Required camber should be arranged over long spans.
16. Supports shall be sufficient and in plumb.

Uses and benefits of dry pack mortar in job site

Dry pack mortar also known as deck mud or floor mud, is formed by blending sand, cement, and water. It’s application is found in repairing small spots, developing thick bed mortar for tile and brick placement, and bed shower setting up.

The proportion of the mixture is done with one part of cement to four part of sand, and sufficient water is required to form mortar that bind together while it is molded into a ball manually.

After being added, the ball shall not decay due to low water quantity and should not slump because of to high-water proportion. This mixture is supposed to produce a compressive strength of 21 MPa.

Dry Pack Mortar – usages and benefits

Mixture Proportion: It is found that one part of cement to four part of sand, desirably sharp clean sand, is sufficient. Further, mix proportions like one to two and half, and one to five or even six are recommended.

Dewatering refers to a method that is applied to extract groundwater confined inside the soil of the construction site to make the foundation long-lasting.

Under this method, the water is released through storm drains, municipal sewer system and irrigation purposes.

The following methods are mostly used for dewatering :-

1. Open dewatering
2. Well point dewatering
3. Deep well dewatering
4. General sump pumping

Open dewatering system: It allows one to reduce the ground water table adequately in cohesive and low penetrable soils. Water is drained directly from sumps (ditches) along the toes of the slopes from the excavation works.

Well point dewatering system: It is performed by gravity or vacuum. This system allows one to reduce the ground water table adequately for deep and large construction. The water from high penetrable soils is drained from well points, set up along the trench of the site.

Deep well dewatering: This system allows one to reduce the groundwater table to substantial depth. A submersible pump is set up at the bottom of the well with casing containing a minimum 150 mm dia. The discharge pipes from the submersible pump of a number of adjoining wells are attached to a common delivery main. The water is uplifted from the well with the help of multi-staged pump.

General sump pumping: Sump pumps are suitable where excess water is drained from a specific area. They usually rest in a basin or sump that accumulates this excess water. This classification contains bilge and ballast pumps, centrifugal pumps, cantilever pumps, sewage pumps, submersible sump pumps and utility pumps.
